Rilmac Asbestos Services Case Study – Lindum Group Factory Re-roofing

As part of the M&E and roof replacement works at a large scale factory in the city of Lincoln, Rilmac were employed to remove the internal asbestos insulating boards from the roof structure. Working progressively throughout the factory, with multiple enclosures, in a 24/7 live factory environment, Rilmac had up to 24 men working on-site at any one time. The programme of works was developed in line with the requirement of the reinstatement programme, and this was achieved at each project milestone.

Rilmac Fabrication Case Study – Lincoln Tank Memorial

The Lincoln Tank Memorial was commissioned by The Lincoln Tank Memorial Group who are a small group of local people who are dedicated to putting a model of a Mark 1 tank on the Tritton Road Roundabout near the University which is close to the site of Foster’s factory where the first tank came off the production line in 1916.

The purpose of the Tank Memorial is to educate people and commemorate Lincoln’s great engineering history.

The 1.5 times lifesize model was constructed from corten steel at Rilmac Fabrications Beevor Street site, just a few hundred metres from its final resting place on Tritton Road roundabout. 15 figures were then placed around the memorial that were cut by plasma operator Ashley Tomlin of Rilmac before being powder coated in a contrasting black colour.

Rilmac Insulation Case Study – RAF Wattisham

Rilmac Insulation Limited completed the thermal insulation of internal heating and domestic pipework services and ventilation ductwork within the proposed MTM Building at RAF Wattisham, Suffolk. On the mezzanine floor level the pipework and ductwork was insulated and clad with stucco aluminium. All pipework insulation within the plantroom areas were clad with Isogenopak. Valves and flanges were insulated with purpose made removable insulation jackets to a high standard. The Job was a success and SBS passed comment on the high level of workmanship.

The project was one of the more challenging recently in terms of logistics and organisation, working in the prison we had to adhere to specific time scales, logistical challenges and stringent specification.

Rilmac were procured to provide scaffolding access to repair the roof on the gym, it was in Rilmac’s package to ensure there was a mechanical hoist, security fencing and suitable edge protection for access on the roof.
