When Christian took his first job as a lifeguard at our Minehead resort, he thought he would only be staying for two months, but 9 years later he’s still here, still happy and a true Butlin’s person. Over his first two seasons he really found his feet, and soon became a Team Leader – progressing to Swimming Pool Assistant Manager when he was ready. He’s got a real talent for bringing out the best in people and helping them develop their careers, just like he did. He says that he really loves seeing families having a great time on holiday, and he gets a real buzz from meeting new people. In fact, he met his wife at Butlin’s and they are expecting their first Butlin’s baby!

Jola came from Poland nine years ago in search of new challenges – and she certainly found them in Accommodation at Butlin’s. Jola learned a lot of new skills, gained new confidence, and was promoted to new positions as soon as she was ready for them. She’s now award-winning Manager of not one, but two of our accommodation Villages; she’s built a great, close team and she comes to work with a smile. And when she’s not working, she loves bringing her kids to the resort to enjoy free access to all the facilities – which means big smiles all round.

Kryzysztof joined us back in 2016 – when he started he was cleaning tables, but he was hungry to become a cook, so as soon as a position came up he went for it. Before long, he was making salads and starters for all the resort’s restaurants… but that wasn’t enough. Within 6 months he was cooking for the team in the Team Diner, and 6 months later he was running breakfast at our premium restaurant. He didn’t stop there: he moved to evening meals, took all kinds of courses, worked with Michelin starred chefs and he’s now 2nd chef in Guest Catering, providing delicious food for up to 3200 half board guests at peak times, as well as catering for conferences and events. He loves his work, and everyone loves his food.
